Intellectual Property & Technology Licensing Seminar

Are you working on groundbreaking research? Curious about how to protect, commercialize, or launch a start-up based on your innovations through IP? Join us April 16th, 11:00-1:00, in the CBIS Auditorium for an exciting campuswide seminar hosted by the Office of Intellectual Property and Technology Licensing (IPTL) at Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute (RPI).

This seminar will provide insights into how IPTL supports faculty and students in translating research into real-world impact through IP protection, patents, licensing, industry partnerships, and start-up formation. Attendees will learn about evaluating the commercial potential of research, navigating the invention disclosure and patent process, understanding licensing pathways, and accessing start-up and funding resources such as SBIR/STTR opportunities.

The session will also highlight key practical considerations, commercialization pathways, and examples of how RPI innovations move from the lab to the marketplace.
