Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute was founded 200 years ago for “the application of science to the common purposes of life.” The Office of Strategic Alliances and Translation (OSAT) continues that mission today by facilitating RPI-industry connections, collaborations, and partnerships. By bridging the gap between research and development, we draw from our creativity and diversity to optimize return-on-investment for all parties. RPIVentures fosters student and faculty entrepreneurship, enables the growth of high-tech startups, and leverages the value of RPI’s intellectual property. Through all of these activities, RPI has created a robust innovation ecosystem that will deliver lasting societal impact.

Jonathan Dordick, Ph.D.

Welcome to the Office of Strategic Alliances and Translation (OSAT), Rensselaer’s home for strategic partnerships, corporate relations, innovation, entrepreneurship, intellectual property and technology transfer, and research translation. OSAT enables and fosters meaningful collaborations between RPI faculty and students and strategic, non-federal, partners to develop new projects, expand existing partnerships, and translate new ideas and discoveries into commercial products, processes, and services that will benefit society and, as we say, “Change the World.”

We believe that by actively engaging academia, industry, and the entrepreneurial community, we can create an innovation ecosystem with local, national, and global reach. I invite you to explore our website, and I encourage you to connect with OSAT’s vibrant community and discover the transformative power of collaborating with RPI.

Thank you,
Jonathan S. Dordick, Ph.D.
